Pigman is a strong rush kit, with pots, a mob, and a sword with the strongest non-crit damage for a kit.

What the kit gets

At max level, Pigman gives you a gold helmet with protection 2, fire protection 5, and unbreaking 1, a gold chestplate with protection 1, fire protection 3, and unbreaking 1, leather leggings with unbreaking 1 and protection 1, and leather boots with unbreaking 1 and protection 1. It also gives you 4 splash potions of instant damage 1, a gold sword with sharpness 2 and unbreaking 1, and a pigman spawn egg.

Why should you get this kit?

1. Gold sword. This sword has the best non-crit damage: 7.5(1+6.5). However, it's crit damage is 0.5 less than an iron sword/diamond axe, so you should use this sword if you tend to get more normal hits than crits.
2. Fire protection. This helps counter that one annoying blaze or other kits that rely on fire.
3. Pigman. The pigman is often underestimated, because it is only one mob, however it is the tankiest mob with the highest damage, making it the best mob.
4. Good base armor. You get 5 armor bars and 5 levels of protection, making this an ideal rush kit, along with the good sword.
5. Damage potions. These potions, as well as healing the pigman, also do damage and knockback to players, so you can use these to start a combo, while dealing damage.

Kill effect

It is recommended to use the speed kill effect, due to pigman being a rush kit and speed being good with aggressive playstyles.

How to play this kit

At the start of the game, find a weapon, and start killing players, using your speed kill effect to help you chain kills. You can also loot for leggings and boots. Keep in mind that your leather boots are better than gold/chain boots, because of the protection 1. A rod and a bow is also recommended. A rod is especially good because pigman is a melee kit, and is best optimized with a rod.

Once kits are received, spawn your pigman. The pigman is both tanky and powerful, while being decently fast. Then, continue killing players. Use your damage pots as combo starters. Damage pots are especially good at this because, as previously mentioned, they do damage on top of the knockback. You can also throw them at your enemy to knock them back if you need to run. The damage pots can also be saved for deathmatch.

At deathmatch, continue to fight in melee PVP. If you saved your pots, then use these on the more stacked players, and use the knockback to start a combo. Keep fighting to secure the win!

How to counter this kit

You can counter the pigman mob by separating it from the player, and killing it separately, to face the pigman themself. You can also use a bow to kill it from a range. A bow can also be used to counter the player, because pigman relies on fighting in melee.

If you struggle with the damage pots, you can use a kit with high levels of protection, such as Armorer or Knight, as protection reduces magic damage.

Pigman is a strong rush kit that also gives some utility and a strong mob. It has one of the best swords in the game, and is deadly to fight in melee PVP.
