Zombie is a common kit that gives good armor, a decent weapon, and golden apples that give you an extra row of hearts.

What the kit gets

Zombie is a common kit, and costs 500 coins to unlock. 

At level 1, the kit gets:

+ Leather helmet

+ Iron chestplate

+ Chain leggings 

+ Leather boots

+ Iron sword

+ 3 Absorbtion 5 golden apples (+1 every kill)

+ Permanent Absorbtion 5

The level 2 upgrade costs 1000 coins, and consists of:

+ Iron chestplate → Iron chestplate (protection 2)

+ Chain leggings → Chain leggings (protection 2)

+ 3 Absorbtion 5 golden apples (+1 every kill) → 4 Absorbtion 5 golden apples (+1 every kill)

The level 3 upgrade costs 1500 coins, and consists of:

+ Iron chestplate (protection 2) → Diamond chestplate 

+ 4 Absorbtion 5 golden apples (+1 every kill) → 5 Absorbtion 5 golden apples (+1 every kill)

Why should you get this kit?

+ Good armor. Although the armor at level 1 is pretty weak, it gets much better as you upgrade zombie, and at level 2, it's already as good as having 7 armor bars, and at level 3, it's as good as having 7.5 armor bars!

+ Golden apples. These heal a massive amount of health, and come in really handy in 1v1s or when you run out of soup. You can also get a lot of these.

How to play this kit

Zombie is based off pure melee PVP, with the help of the gapples.

You should use the gapples right before you enter a fight. Then, fight in pure melee PVP. When you run out of soup in your hotbar, that's when you should use a gapple, as that's when you're most vulnerable. Then, get soup back into your hotbar and continue fighting. You can also use a gap in an “intermission” in a fight, that is, when you and your enemy knock each other back.

Try to save the gaps, but if you really need them, don't hesitate! Losing your gapples is better than losing your life.

Skill Cap

Zombie has a low skill cap, because it's primarily based off melee PVP.

What this kit counters

Zombie doesn't counter any kit in particular, it's just a good kit to enhance your PVP.

How to counter this kit

Zombie is countered by kits that apply a lot of pressure, such as sonic, enderman, viper, and fisherman. This is because these kits can do a lot of damage while the zombie tries to eat a gapple, which can sometimes do more damage than the gapple heals. Boulder also does this if they are very close when the zombie tries to use a gapple, because they can encapsulate the zombie and attack them while they eat a gapple.

Dracula hard counters zombie because it can steal the absorbtion that zombie gets. Also, if a zombie eats a gapple during the period which Dracula is disabling potion effects, then the zombie only gets 2 minutes of absorbtion 1, and they have to wait for the absorbtion to end or get rid of the absorbtion hearts to be able to eat a gapple to get absorbtion 5 again.

Trivia

+ Zombie has the exact same armor and armor progression as Viper.

+ If you have an inventory full of soup and kill someone, it will replace the leftmost soup in your hotbar with a gapple.

+ As of the time of writing, when you kill someone, the gapple you get on a kill will not show in your inventory due to a visual bug. These “ghost apples” will stack until there's 64 total apples. They will appear when you either click the apples in your inventory or eat one.

+ The gapples will only add to the leftmost stack, and if that is empty, the leftmost stack of the row above that in your inventory, and so on. But if you have 64 in that leftmost stack, no gapples will be added. You can bypass this by sacrificing a soup slot to split the apples and therefore allow more gapples to be added into the leftmost slot.

+ Since there is no limit to the amount of gapples you can have, you can theoretically get a full inventory of them.

Summary

Zombie is a strong kit that has great healing and some decent gear. It's easy to use.

Most of the viper trivia is gonna be copied off zombie except:

+ Viper gives poison on hit no matter what item you're holding

+ If you hit your enemy in the same tick as the poison does damage, the poison tick will glitch and this will make you do double damage.

I like using this kit, the only problem is the lack of a speed buff but if you kill a lot of people then the apples stack up really well
