I am writing this forum because recently I have been scrolling through forums and came to the Bloodstar_9 sittuation. Extras has been in the right but this is not about that. One of his evidence against blood was that he used an IP grabber. Unless I'm Mistaken an IP grabber can find out your exact location when you are online on the server. According to his actions I think blood is about 13-14 so if an 14 yr old can hack into the server and grab our ips whats sayin that actual hackers and other bad people wont do the same? Arch could get sued for this if a persons Ip gets in the wrong hands (idk I'm new to the legal system but I think so) So I'm just asking badmin or a mod or an admin to take action to stop our iips from getting into the wrong hands

Eragon, to join a Minecraft/Eaglercraft server, you are actively sharing your IP with the server. That's how servers work. Someone with a bit of experience can get your IP through a Minecraft server, and each time you connect to one, you are taking that risk.

Moral of the story: don't click sketchy links sent by random ass people

Plus: IP grabbing is not illegal. Threatening or blackmailing someone with the IP information is illegal, but since someone's IP can easily be found online or through other loopholes of the internet, it's not illegal to just have the information. If you leak the person's IP without consent, that is also illegal. But simply knowing the information with no malicious intent is fine.

He was not banned for using a method to gain someone's IP on the server, that is very hard to accomplish unless the server is extremely unsecured. He was banned for sending an IP grabber link, which waits for people to connect to it and reports the IPs back to the person who made it.
