Shadow Knight is a unique kit that many of my friends have asked me about, making it the perfect kit for the first kit review!

What the kit gets

At max level, Shadow Knight gets a wither skeleton skull with protection 5 and feather falling 4(more on that later), a leather chestplate, chain leggings, and leather boots. It also gets 3 splash potions of blindness for 6 seconds.

Why should you get this kit?

1. The sword. The iron sword is one of the best melee weapons in Hunger Games.
2. The blindness pots. As well as reducing the enemy's vision, these pots also remove the enemy's ability to sprint.
3. The skull. The skull gives you protection 5 and feather falling 4. The protection 5 gives 7 EPF (Environmental Protection Factor). So this means that on average, the skull gives an 22.86%(16-28%) damage reduction, when there are no other armor pieces with protection(calculations at https://hypixel.net/threads/guide-epf-and-you-a-comprehensive-guide-to-epf-armor-enchants.151356/ ). More armor pieces with protection would increase the amount the skull protects. When the skull is paired with iron boots, chain leggings, and an iron chestplate(the best armor you can find in chests), it gives a total damage reduction of 59.89%. On the other hand, replacing it with an iron helmet would give a damage reduction of 56%, and a diamond helmet would be 60%. However, the skull's environmental protection and feather falling more than makes up for the excess 0.11%. This means that the skull is basically as good as a diamond helmet.

Kill effect

It is recommended to use the speed kill effect. Overall, speed is one of the best buffs in the game, and if you have speed and your opponent has blindness, they have practically 0 chance of hitting you.

How to play this kit

At the start of the game, loot for a chestplate and boots, because the leather chestplate and boots the kit gives are very weak. Then, when kits are received, hunt players. Splash your pot before you fight them, as this slows them down and confuses them, giving you a big advantage. It would be recommended to save a pot for deathmatch. The pots are great for a variety of reasons, mostly for getting better combos and preventing the target from running (as mentioned earlier, you can't sprint with blindness).

How to counter this kit

Shadow Knight is primarily based off melee PVP, so a ranged weapon would shred a Shadow Knight. Also, mob kits are great counters too, as the mobs can distract the Shadow Knight. 

If you get hit by a blindness potions, there are 2 ways to counter it:

1. If you have a fishing rod, walk backwards and rod spam. Do this until the blindness wears off. The rod does enough knockback to keep the Shadow Knight back.
2. Fight. Although this might seem a bit counter intuitive when you have blindness, it's actually a viable strategy. Shadow Knights tend to let their guard down when they blind you, so you can take advantage of that.

What this kit counters

This kit counters melee kits, such as Knight and Warlock. You can slow them, and then combo them, and they can't run away because of blindness. It works especially well against Warlock after they splash their pots, because then they will have slowness and not be able to sprint, effectively turning them into a snail.

Summary

Shadow Knight is a unique kit that has powerful blindness pots and a great helmet. It's great if you like to do melee PVP, but good with aiming potions. I would definitely recommend this kit.
