In public chat, you are only allowed to use English as it's the only language we can properly moderate, however, in private DMs, party chat, land chat etc…, you are free to use whatever language you want

I can see why people want to speak their own languages, and I think it would be a lot better for the community if there was a translation plugin someday, but English-only in general chat has always been the policy. If you want to speak Japanese, you can either use DMs (/msg) or lands chat (/l chat). In the future, if more multilingual moderators are accepted, there is a good chance you will be able to speak whatever language you want.

Understand that this isn't meant to discriminate against certain players, rather to just maintain a safe community where everyone can feel comfortable.
