Personally, I blacked out twice, still dragged myself to track practice and the meet, had a full-on cartwheel and back handspring battle with my friends (because why not?), absolutely nailed triple jump until my friend yeeted me into the sand, turning me into a human sandcastle. Oh, and hurdles? I was doing great… until I got cocky, raised them higher, and absolutely obliterated one mid-sprint because the turf betrayed me. 10/10 execution, 0/10 survival. So, after a whole day of questionable decisions, I was just hanging out with my friends, feeling like I survived the worst… until I got voluntold to carry a cooler that was way too heavy for my 80-pound self. This thing was 150 pounds, so I was basically trying to drag a small car across the parking lot. I start walking looking like a confused zombie, arms shaking like I was holding onto my life and about 10 steps in, I felt my legs start to wobble like they were ready to completely bail on me. Every step felt like the cooler was getting heavier, and the ground? It was not my friend. I hit a tiny dip in the grass, and it was like my feet just decided to give up. I swear, I went into a slow-motion fall—like, one second I was upright, and the next, I was sideways, feet tangled in the cooler straps, and my arms just flailing like they had no idea what they were doing. My friends are dying laughing, but I just kept going because I’m too stubborn to quit. Then, the fence. I don’t even know how it happened, but I think I misjudged my angle (or just didn’t care), and I ended up running right into it. I didn’t bounce off like I was in a cartoon—I just crashed and stumbled like I was having a mid-life crisis at 13. I thought, “Okay, I’ll recover,” and kept dragging the cooler. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I made it to the bus, but of course, the stairs weren’t going to let me off that easy. I was halfway up when I slipped on the first step, caught myself, but then my foot slid off the next step so, naturally, I had to catch myself again by slamming into the side of the bus. The cooler? Nowhere to be found probably on the bus floor chilling. And well I still got 5TH IN THE DISTRICT FOR 800M AND WE WON THE TRACK MEET :))))))). I guess it wasnt all for nothing.
